Cars came racing into theaters in 2006 and over 10 years later, the franchise is back with a highly anticipated third movie.
We are excited to see how Pixar executes its ability to craft brilliant car puns and lovable characters. So, with its big debut approaching (June 16th), who can we expect to see in the newest Cars movie?
Older and wearier, the legendary Lightening McQueen is trying hard to keep up with an ever-changing sport. With a new generation of racers taking over the track, McQueen is driven out of his career and forced to find a way to get back in the game. To the dismay of a young technician named Cruz, McQueen is assigned an operator to help the struggling driver.
Thus, enters Cruz Rameriez. To hel McQueen get back into shape, Cruz makes her Cars debut. Energetic and spunky, Cruz is tasked with helping the washed up star and “the friction and eventual mutual understanding between the characters provides the film’s emotional centerpiece.”
With a new movie comes a new antagonist. Jackson Storm steals this show with his innate talent and is the quintessential sports star – cocky, gifted, and justifiably resented. Storm works as McQueen’s rival throughout the movie.
A new boss is in town and it might not be a good thing. Sterling is McQueen’s new boss. What are his motives? Are his desires at odds with McQueen’s? Only time will tell.
It wouldn’t be a Cars movie without Mater. Although he is not a prominent character in the movie, he still plays an integral role in the movie’s personality and staple catch phrases.
You can expect to see McQueen’s 996-generation Porche girlfriend. Not only will she play a bigger role than she did in Cars 2, but will play a more prominent role in McQueen’s career.
He’s back! He will probably not play a big roll, but we just love his slow-rolling, cool-breezer self.
There are many more faces we can expect to see. With a highly anticipated premiere and ideal movie times, Stars and Stripes is the perfect place to watch Cars 3. It’s the perfect Summer, family activity for. And Pixar is great at being able to provide some humor for the parents as well.
Check out our movie times for Cars 3 for opening night (June 16th) and beyond!
