June 5th, 2018

Watching a great movie can be an escape, almost a mini-vacation where the stress of your day melts away.  When you catch a movie under the night sky at Stars and Stripes Drive-in Theater the experience is unforgettable.

One movie you should watch out for is the Jurassic world: Fallen Kingdom

The sensation of watching dinosaurs devour people does not get old, hence the sequel to the 2015 classical action – Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The movie has several dinosaur actions and an erupting volcano.

Two years after the daring dinosaurs were set free and caused the lavish resort park to shut down, a volcano endangered the island, including the primordial creatures living there.

Owen, the Raptor trainer, played by Chris Pratt and Claire, the previous park manager played by Bryce Dallas Howard journeyed to the island in order to save the dinosaurs from extinction. However, they found out that the menace is bigger than they imagined

Jurassic World movie was more intense and scarier than the original films, and Jurassic World: fallen kingdom will pick up from where it stopped. There will be scenes of dangers, romance, as well as strong language.

In the movie, Owen began his journey in search of his raptor and uncovered a plot that will disrupt the planet's natural order.

Off the island

The movies show dinosaurs in different places including a kid's bedroom, on a roof, and in direct confrontation with a lion. The movie will also feature the return of Jeff Goldblum to the movie franchise.

The message

The movie will entertain and educate simultaneously. The sequel (Fallen kingdom) will include a message. According to Trevorrow (the director), the dinosaurs will represent the treatment most animals receive the medical experimentation, the abuse, and the use of animals.

While these themes are not completely new to the movie franchise, Jurassic World will explore other new avenues.

Don't expect to see many dinosaurs running after people on an island. Jurassic World: fallen kingdom will move from Isla Nublar to the world of Jurassic Park.

At the end of the movie, the audience will want more. Earlier Jurassic Park films had a clear conclusive ending, which was quite episodic.

There are diverse interesting possibilities; hence, the inventive minds behind Jurassic World have explored them.

Whatever reason that drives us to the theater in Lubbock; this movie will leave you happier and merrier.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom opens June 21st 2018. Click here for tickets.

For a movie experience your family will not forget, come to Stars and Stripes Drive-in Theater in Lubbock and see The Incredibles 2 on June 14th.  Arrive early to enjoy dinner and snacks from our 50's Cafe.  Indoor and outdoor seating is a family-friendly option while you let the kids play on the playground before the movie.

Following Walt Disney’s announcement of ticket sales for “The Incredibles 2” with a gripping 60-second teaser to induce animated movie enthusiasts of the soon-to-hit the movie blast, all seems set for the well anticipated “The incredible 2”.

This animated follow-on is one of the out-of-the-ordinary creative animated movies to quench the raging thirst of cartoon lovers who have had to wait a little while now.

Anticipation is high.  For both movie lovers who crave a creative animated series and the producers, whose creative wits would stir a dual benefit of satisfying hundreds of millions of movie lovers while at same returning good investment for the stakeholders.

For the movie lovers, “The Incredibles 2” bridges the over 6 month’s draught within the major animated segments while for the producers, they have not only quenched the longing but have created a veritable product that would remain indelible in the hearts of happy movie lovers.

The beginning

Incredibles 2 picked off from where the previous movie ended. You remember that part where undermine (the villain) comes up and you meet a family dressed as superheroes. That’s exactly where it starts from.

New cast

Early this year, Disney announced that new cast members that will be included in the movie. The new cast members include:

Catherine Keener – she will play a new character known as Evelyn Deavor.

Bob Odenkirk – he is known as bad Saul Goodman, he will play the role of Winston Deavor, who is related to Catherine.

Trailers have been released since February 2018 and there are two full movie trailers and two teasers. In the trailers, the fortunes of the family changed as the elastic girl is called back into action, while Mr. incredible is more like a stay at home dad (which is unusual).

There are projections that the movie would rank and compete among the like of Jurassic World 2, which is believed to have raked in over $500m, and among other animated series that have graced our screens. “The Incredibles 2” has the potential to outperform those within its contemporaries

When you choose to watch The Incredibles 2 at the Drive-In, the movie it is sure to be a good treat for both the young folks and the older populace.

By the way, some believe seeing a movie alone in the closet is not as much fun as seeing it in a theater under the stars.  They believe it gets better when a good movie is savored together with friends in a gripping atmosphere. We welcome you and your friends to see this one in an unforgettable experience at Stars and Stripes Drive-in.

Presale tickets are currently being sold online. Come to the Drive-In June 14th to see the opening of Incredibles 2 in Lubbock.

Yes, another standalone Star Wars movie will hit the theatre soon! The story focuses on an infamous smuggler, Han Solo, and features how he met Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca during his criminal activities and his time at the Imperial Academy.

The movie brings a classic twist to the main story of a rogue in the Star Wars cosmos, channeling a western style and fun to a far away galaxy.

Before going to the movie theaters in Lubbock to see Solo: A Star Wars Story, here are some things you must know.

Solo is set 4 years before the happenings of Star Wars: Episode IV and it will include the early years of Han Solo. The movie will indicate why Han is an unkempt-looking herder. Also, Solo's backstory shows that he was nurtured by space nomads and he doesn't know his real family.

•    Popular faces in Star Wars movies are not going away anytime soon

Apart from the popular British actors, the first Star Wars trilogy made use of virtual unknowns in major roles. However, we have seen actors like Laura Dern, Forest Whitaker, Benicio Del Toro, thrown abruptly into an imperial entanglement, even though the prequels had Liam Neeson and Samuel L Jackson wearing the Jedi garb.

The latest popular character to appear in the movie for the first time is Han Solo’s devious mentor (Beckett) played by Woody Harrelson.

•    Emilia Clarke’s Imperial looks

The lavish, imposing cloak worn by Emilia Clarke in the movie is what high-ranking empire members in Star Wars movies wear. Emilia Clarke might be a spy who wants to infiltrate the forces of Emperor Palpatine with Han's help.

•    Han's home planet

Han lost his family at an early age and resulted to stealing in order survive. He doesn't talk about his home planet of Corellia, however, we will get to see more of his home planet in this movie.

•    Millennium Falcon

From the Solo trailers, you may see that the Millennium Falcon is quite different. In the previous movies, Rey and Luke saw the Falcon as a piece of garbage. In a game of Corellian Spike, Han won the Falcon, making things more accidental. After Hans won, he placed the dice in gold — you may have seen them in the Last Jedi when Luke gave them to Leia in honor to his departed friend.

Solo is the 10th Star Wars movie, which gives a backstory to roles that were presented elsewhere.

You will not find any cliffhangers in the Solo movie and you don't have to watch the previous films to understand what Solo is all about.

Solo: A Star Wars Story opens at Stars and Stripes Drive In Theater in Lubbock May 25th, 2018.  Get your advanced tickets online today!  Click here.
