Fun family entertainment is UNLEASHED (get it?) at Stars & Stripes Lubbock with the sequel to the 2016 smash hit that posed the question, “What do our pets do when we’re not home?” From Illumination Studios, it’s The Secret Life of Pets 2!

Join Max, a neurotic terrier who becomes overprotective of his owner’s new child, and sets out with his fellow pets on a cross-country adventure to rescue the kid from harm. It’s sort of like an animated Homeward Bound, only with costumed rabbits and anxiety disorders!

Like its predecessor, The Secret Life of Pets 2 boasts a star-studded cast. Patton Oswalt takes over the role of Max, while Eric Stonestreet returns as Duke, Max’s newfound (and Newfoundland) best friend. There’s Kevin Hart as a bunny named Snowball, Jenny Slate as Gidget the Pomeranian, Lake Bell, Nick Kroll, Dana Carvey, and even big screen legend Harrison Ford as Rooster, a farm dog who helps Max overcome his fears.

And it’s no secret - Stars & Stripes Lubbock allows pets! Bring your furry friends and family to see The Secret Life of Pets 2! Click the link below for tickets!

Stars and Stripes Lubbock presents... Aladdin!

Stars & Stripes Lubbock is gettin’ genie wit it as Walt Disney Studios conjures up the live-action remake of a beloved animated classic! Directed by Guy Ritchie, it’s Aladdin!

The film follows Mena Massoud as the titular diamond in the rough who attempts to win the heart of  the beautiful Princess Jasmine, played by Naomi Scott. Of course, you can’t have an Aladdin remake without a big blue genie, and who better to take on the iconic role than film icon himself, Will Smith!

When faced with the task of filling the shoes of Robin Williams, who voiced the Genie in the animated original, Smith admits that he was, of course, intimidated. “At the end of the day,” Smith stated, “It was the music where I saw that I could honor the nostalgia, and I could pay homage to Robin, but then also be able to add my new flavor.” Speaking of the music, Aladdin features brand new renditions of the original’s classic songs, as well as a few new pieces composed by Disney Legend Alan Menken.

So hop on your magic carpet, elephant, or… probably just your car and enjoy a fun-filled night under the stars watching Disney’s Aladdin at Stars & Stripes Lubbock! Click the link below for your tickets!

The game is afoot at Stars and Stripes Lubbock, …and the foot is actually a tiny yellow paw because we’re talking about Pokémon: Detective Pikachu!

Based on the video game of the same name, the first ever live-action Pokémon film tells the story everyone’s favorite yellow Pokémon who, while not the best at battling in the arena, is gifted with some self-proclaimed detective skills. Those skills are put to the test when Pikachu teams up with a former Pokémon trainer named Tim Goodman to track down Tim’s missing father. Traditionally, most Pokémon are only able to say their own name, but in a Doctor Dolittle-esque twist, Tim is actually able to understand Detective Pikachu, who much to the delight of fans, is voiced by Ryan Reynolds of recent Deadpool fame. Our two heroes’ investigation leads them on an adventure filled with encounters from the famous creatures that have been all the rage with audiences since their debut more than 20 years ago!

Stars and Stripes Lubbock presents... Avengers: Endgame!

April 19th, 2019

It’s an epic event eleven years in the making at Stars and Stripes Lubbock with the next highly-anticipated installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Endgame!

As Tony Stark said in 2012’s The Avengers, our heroes might not be able to save the world, but they WILL avenge it! Now here we are, several films later, and that scenario has finally come true. The Avengers were not able to save the world from the big baddie Thanos in last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, so now it’s time for the team to live up to their name and avenge it. Of course, simply saying that the Avengers were ‘unable to save the world’ is putting it mildly as the supervillain Thanos actually wiped out half of all life in the entire universe! Wondering if and how our heroes are able to right such a monumental wrong is probably what makes Endgame one of the most anticipated movies of the year.

As most people probably already know, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johannson, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, and Mark Ruffalo as everyone’s favorite superhero team. Also tagging along is Paul Rudd as Ant-Man and Brie Larson as the most recent addition to the MCU, Captain Marvel!

21 action-packed films in the last 11 years have all been leading up to this moment, and there’s no better place to enjoy that moment than Stars and Stripes Lubbock! Click the link below and get your tickets to Avengers: Endgame today!
