Everything is Awesome at Lubbock’s Stars and Stripes Drive-In Theatre as Emmett, Lucy, Batman and the rest of their minifigure friends return for Lego Movie 2: The Second Part! In case you couldn’t tell from the title, it’s a sequel.

The film picks up five years after the events of The Lego Movie, where the bustling city of Brickopolis has since been overrun by invaders from the planet Duplo, leaving it a post-apocalyptic wasteland… but… you know? The fun kind. While the first film featured a cast of the toy line’s traditional minifigure characters, the sequel looks to incorporate characters from other Lego toy lines as well. This proved a challenge for the filmmakers who, wishing to keep the same type of movement and articulation as the actual toys, had to find creative solutions for combining the different types into one believable world. Choreographers were also brought in to create a routine incorporating the restricted movement of the different characters for “The Catchy Song,” a new number whose only line is “This song is gonna get stuck inside your head.”

No doubt it will do just that.

You’ll want to assemble your family together at Lubbock’s Stars and Stripes for this fun-filled adventure of mini proportions. Click the link below to get your tickets today!

See you at the drive-in!
